Bags and Shoes
With a production time of 5 to 7 days, it is too late to order your custom Sex and the City invites from the new shoes and bags collection. Still, keep these note cards in mind for a bridal shower, a girl makeover party or a bridal party.
A bride to be can order a custom set for each of her bridesmaids. Simply select the illustration that fits the best the bridesmaid’s personality.
Moving Announcements
There are several options to choose from a mid-century house to reference to condo living and home decor accessories. You do not need to live in a Palm Springs modern house to order those as long as you want to say "Come to see my new hip place", these designs are OK.

There is a new way to personalize your invitations with the launch of silhouettes by PosePrints.
You can add a couple, a bride or a pregnant mother. Same sex couples are represented by two male silhouettes. Strangely, lesbian couples are not represented.
The different between the female models are three hair styles. The silhouettes are also available in several colors.
There are less customization options than with the personalized avatars. Still you can find a suitable fit. The pricing is the same for all poses.

Each couple has a story. I happened to meet a TV actress not too long ago. I am telling her how I could relate to her storyline because my husband and I got together a little bit the same way of her character.
I am telling you that because people do not always know or remember how you became a couple. If you have an interesting story, one of most memorable things you can do for your wedding celebrations is to splurge on personalized designed invites, place cards and paper goods.
I have to warn you: Be ready to be swept off your feet with the bespoke portfolio of Chewing the Cud Weddings. Their attention to details is totally divine. But craftsmanship and exclusivity have its price tag.
Chewing the Cud was founded by Viola, a graphic designer from San Francisco. To know the extent of her talents, look at what she did for her own wedding.

New parents can save until April 18th, 2008 with the Buy 1 Get 1 free event on their new Birth Photo Announcement Cards. From their design studio in Toronto, Penny People Designs ships worldwide.
Penny People will double the ordered quantity of any Birth Photo Announcement cards if you answer Eupdate to the question "How did you hear from us?" during the checkout process. Offer valid until April 18th, 2008.
The design of the Penny People cards can be changed to suit your taste. So do not worry if you do not like the shown colors, the fonts or the fact that the picture is in black and white. As far as I understand, these design changes cost nothing.
Added Attention
Because Penny People knows that you will be quite busy after the birth of your infant, parents-to-be can receive the envelopes early for an additional $3.00 mailing fee. Therefore, it makes senses to order the birth announcements prior to the arrival of your baby.

BABY showers

Instead of a design mood board, I composed one around potential gift ideas. I will tell you all about why these items have baby shower written all over them.
Aprons
You probably know by now that I adore aprons. And with a new baby, the mother needs more than one for years to come. It is not because you have a baby that you should stop being fashionable. Since you have less time for yourself, it is better to protect your clothes while you are running your daily errands in the house. For example, when you start to give solid food to your baby, the apron protects your clothes up to a certain point.
This Cherry Tart Chef Apron is from an etsy’s seller called BellaBeeDesigns. A hostess version was also available; I just bought it. Every Bella Bee’s apron is handmade with designer fabrics that are 100% pre-washed cotton fabrics. She used designers like Amy Butler and Joel Dewberry. These aprons are created to withstand many years (even generations) of use and washings.

With less than 2 weeks before the big game, it is time to finalize your design. You know me; I am going for a stylish look. So I compiled a mood board to get you started.
My best advice is to stay away from the easy and expected props to celebrate the Super Bowl. The trick is to find an inspiration and to harmonize the rest.
Vintage meets modern
My design kicked in with these cute vintage football plates. A glass set completes the series inspired by classic 1940s artwork. A new addition to the Williams-Sonoma catalogue, each set shows a quarterback, a cheerleader, a punter and a running back.
Some of your guests may be die-hard fans. A kicker can be to serve walnuts as a snack during the game. The dark wooden bowl is a two in one serving ware piece: the bowl integrates the nutcracker. I suggest you get an extra nutcracker so no one fight for one.
You can serve nuts in a carafe like I have seen at Westin Casuarina in Las Vegas. Very hygienic, the shape pours easily the nuts in your hand without touching the nuts.

For my second board, I wanted to do something for the hipper crowd. I came over this eye catching restaurant in Santiago, Chile while browsing the blogosphere. Wow! Imagine hosting a New Year party in a place like this.
I cannot tell you all the details about this restaurant because I spot it on Plateforma Arquitectura, a Spanish-speaking blog. Simply looking at the pictures is already a treat.
The boutique hotel movement responded to our desire to bring our home to the hotel. Then people got inspired by the interior design of these hotels and bring the best into their home. The same happens between restaurants and home cooking. But when you look at Restaurante Mercat, the modern fashionable decor has a homey atmosphere.
For a party like this, I needed an invitation card that dares to be different for your New Year’s Eve Party. The New Year Soiree (NTC) invite, designed by Bonnie’s StylePress, has more to offer than your average New Year card.

With people having children at an older age, the deeper implication of fathers and a higher sense of design than in the past, there is a need for more stylish baby shower party themes.
More and more future parents value schemes that are far away from the same old matching baby showers offered by large retail chains. If you are planning a baby shower party for hip urban parents, I got a few ideas to pull off this challenge.
First, any event revolves around the food, the décor and the atmosphere. That is what I show you on my inspiration board.
The Invitations
Even if it is the first thing you should send, you must work out the details of the party before selecting your invites. An invitation sets the tone of the party. The festive note cards I displayed are miles away from the juvenile look typically associated with baby showers. Since it is a parent baby shower, a gender neutral model is the way to go.

My fellow Canadian stationery artist Lana Stewart of Paper Skirt passed on TV for a card making segment at the show Living in Ottawa by CBC.
If you are interested, watch it right away because the show is supposed to be available online just for 5 days.
I particularly like the sewed cards and the look of lined envelops which are so easy to do yourself. Lana's segment is the first story of the show.

Who said literacy has not place in party? This week’s mood board is about throwing Read & Write parties. You can host a book reading, a short story writing session, a book review tea party or a Haiku party.
Or books can simply be the gifts of honor. Books and Brunch is an amazing party concept. It is original and yet so simple to implement as a parent baby shower. Here, the new parents will be surprised with their baby’s library full on the best children’s classic.
The concept can be applied to any occasion. A teenager may want to grow his graphic novel collection for his birthday while cooking or home decorating books fit into the bridal shower spirit.

Halloween is the celebrations where you can invent wild looks. It is your chance to play with fear and the unnatural. So have fun and let the flow of your imagination dictate the look of your party.
If you throw a party for grownups, why not play create a theme around a mad scientist on a scary inhabited island? Decor wise, the possibilities are vast. People can wear a wide range of costumes. For a unified overall look, you could write a script for the party and give in advance anyone a role.
Concept of this Halloween Party
These decorative items by Martha Stewart and by Horchow lay out the foundation of my Halloween themed party. Then add your personal touches. Accentuate the decor with a vignette made of flasks and laboratory instruments. Dress up as a mad doctor in a lab research center.
